    yes they have the same meaning, but we only use lui and lei. that’s because egli and ella are very very sophysticated language, something you’ll find in books or in a tribunal, but nobody actually uses those words in oral language. anyway, we tend to eliminate the subject, so just say the verb!!

    usually we just …
    usually we just don’t say the subject because you don’t have to. For example, if you wanna say “he is kind” you’ll say “(lui/egli) è gentile”. Anyway, “lui”/”egli” and “lei”/”ella” have the exact same meaning, so you can use both.

    nikolette..usually we say “lei” and “lui”..but it’s not necessary…u make the sense with the verb…for example…”è andatA” means she’s gone..”è andatO” means he’s gone..no need to repeat lui and lei…

    I wanted to ask this to someone, to say “he” do you use “egli” or “lui” and to say “she” do you use “ella” or “lei” or can you use both? I have been studying italian for quite a while now but I just use lui and lei.
