What is the best method for learning Italian as an adult?
John M asked:
I have been looking for a course or self taught books or website for learning to speak italian. So far everything that I have come across is not geared towards complete beginners. Any suggestions or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Click in search ‘learning Italian online’ I have come across many websites for several languages and I am trying to learn a couple that way . Look for the websites that offer listening tapes, that way you can practice saying the words then build sentence up as the lessons go along. It is fun. Good Luck!

I highly recommend Rosetta Stone. It really works. Although I am learning Dutch (my husband comes from the Netherlands) and he says he can really deal a difference especially with my pronunciation. You can go to their website and try out the program for free.

You can use all the software and books in the world, but until you put yourself in a situation where you need to USE it, you won’t know it.
I didn’t learn italian until I actually went to Italy.
I thought all my life I was the greatest Italian American, but I didn’t know Jack Crap.

I had a trip booked to Italy and did a quick online course at. It taught me everything i need to to get by and immerse myself further into the language whilst i was there.
