I have never made bread before but I want to try a beginners recipe for basic Italian bread starting from the very beginning. Can someone provide me with a simple, basic recipe?

    dov — I can’t get my machine to cut and paste for some reason. Here is a good web site for recipes. they have 465 recipes for italian bread. just type in italian bread and click the search button.I use this site quite often and am well pleased I think you will be also. jim b

    I agree.. also, when first baking rustic Italian loaves, your best option is to prepare a starter. You can find a ton of Italian bread recipes using a simple dough starter. It is commonly known by the name “biga”, and makes for incredibly chewy, crusty and delicious bread.
