Klyotska asked: 1) “Sometimes, when Cici was very bored, Cici played with the sock. That was usually fun, but the sock was stinky.” (or “smelled bad” if that’s easier)
2) “Since the guy at Safeway (store) didn’t like me, Alessandra bought me and took me home.”
3) “When I first came to New York, I didn’t like it, but now I like it. But the food is better in China.”
4) “Downstairs.”
Sorry if it sounds like baby talk, I am making a movie (about a puppy) to present in my beginner Italian class so I’m trying to make it as easy to understand as possible. I’ve translated it myself, but it’s far from perfect (which is what I want it to be since it’s going on screen) so I really appreciate your help. Thanks to everyone who has already helped with other sentences! These are the last ones I’ll be asking.
Please, only translate if you know Italian.
Michael

Chelsea Isabella asked: Hi,
I’m a beginner italian student. We recently studied Frencesco De Gregori’s famous song “Viva l’Italia.” Our assignment is to write similar lyrics, but under the subject “Viva l’America.” I’ve only started, but does this look okay?
Viva l’America
l’America la bella
l’America liberata
l’America del torta di mele
l’America del baseball
l’America del pattriottismo
Viva l’America
Viva l’America
l’America i coraggiosi
l’America forte
l’America impegnita
l’America colpita
Viva l’America

l’America il ignorante
l’America il apatico
l’America la confondeva
Ma…viva l’America
l’America del vosso, bianco e blu
l’America del aquila
l’America del statua della liberta
l’America del guerra d’indipendenza
l’America la mia patria!

Ces asked: Hi! I’m
studying italian, and could do with some advice and help to find material suitable for reading for someone who can understand about 60%. I’m just starting to study but, for some reason, I can understand most of what I read (i’ve even tried newspapers and Wikipedia). That’s, perhaps, because spanish is my first language, or because I spent many evenings during my teen age listening to a “think italian,
speak italian” course on tape… can’t really tell. Anyway, now I would like to find over the Internet, or to have suggestions of books, texts, anything I could find in Italian that is suitable for beginners. Any suggestions?
The thing is I know the easiest is to look for children’s stories, (I did a huge improvement in english reading that sort of material, so I know that approach works), but I’m not sure exactly what I’m looking for and where to find it…

bringbackwoodstock asked: I am a Canadian citizen but I live in Italy and I go to an international school. I’m a freshman in high school now.
If I take the IB, does that get me into uni in Canada? Or can I just take the SAT’s?
Oh, and for the IB, there’s that first language thing that you do, what if you don’t have a best language??? Like I can only speak English. I’m learning French, Latin, and next year I’m switching schools and taking Italian beginners.

stephy200820032003 asked: I am suppose to present something about Italy, the culture, or the language. In other words the presentation has to deal with an aspect of Italy. It needs to be five minutes long and needs to be presented in Italian. This is for my beginners Italian class, it is a college class. I am pretty sure that Italian Cuisine is already taken as well as Italian cars. If anyone has any ideas of what I can do my presentation on let me know.

Most important to me to be able to speak and understand right now. Anyone used or have expierence with learning language products i would like to hear your opinions!
