Hi Everyone! I m searching info about scholarship to study italian in Italy. Unfortunately i cant apply for sholarships that i already found, because whether my country (Russia) is not in the available list, whether smth else..like my study should be related to italian studies (but i majored in Korean Studies), or i already should be able to speak italian at least somehow. But if THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO OBTAIN - to speak italian, what should i do then?
I am trying to study by books. If anyone knows any information about grants for study italian (beginners)..i would appreciate if u write me..
I'm not sure how your country works, but first I would think about what kind of job you can get with a degree in italian.
With that said, do colleges in Russia have study abroad opportunities? If so, just try to get a study exchange to Italy for a year. Your school may have study abroad scholarships to help cover the cost.
If you can afford Pimsleur Language CDs, those are great. You'll be speaking italian in no time.
The cheapest I've ever seen them for one set was $125 USD.
I'm Italian and it's my mothertongue
It's quite difficult.
What? Masculine noun? feminine noun? neuter noun ?
Why is 'cravata' woman!?
They effect conjugation?
awful….!!
In 1993 the italian language school in Tropea was founded originally as the Caffè Italiano Club. Then, in 2004, the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research Department officially recognised the school as an accredited Italian language school and the name was changed to the Piccola Università Italiana.
The Piccola Università Italiana is one of the few certified Italian language schools in Italy and the only certified language school in Calabria. Our mission statement is to immerse the student/vacationer, as much as possible, into southern Italian culture to facilitate the acquisition of Italian reading, writing and speaking skills under the tutelage of qualified native Italian speakers.
Fifteen years of experience guarantee professionalism in every detail. Our Ministry of Education certified courses are tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. Therefore, class size is limited from 3 to 6 students encompassing 11 language course levels.
The Piccola Università Italiana is situated in the heart of the old town of Tropea, a charming medieval town right by the sea. Tropea lies on the same latitude as the famous Aeolian Islands. Italians affectionately refer to Tropea as the “Pear of Calabria”. Tropea was built on a 42 m high rock and never fails to charm everyone with its romantic, winding streets. Here you find unspoilt natural landscapes with lush green vegetation, forming a magnificent contrast with the turquoise crystal-clear water of the sea.
The weekly cultural programs include guided excursions to points of particular interest in Calabria and Sicily or to Campania to see the ancient ruins at Pompeii. In addition, we organize classical music concerts at school, motorboat trips, hikes in the Aspromonte mountain range, mountain bike excursions, horseback riding on the beach, dining and musical entertainment provided by local musicians and much, much more.
During the summer months, you many choose to spend your leisure time just swimming and sunbathing on the pristine white sandy beaches gently kissed by a warm, turquoise coloured sea.
Whatever your preference, it is a perfect way to combine work and pleasure.

I am going to double major in Languages and International Business. I have already begun taking Spanish and I have to chose another language from this list - French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Greek, Latin, Japanese, or Chinese. What would you go for?
Wow that's crazy. I'm doing almost the exact same thing as you. I'm a double major (Int. Business/Spanish) and I plan to start a minor in another language. I will more than likely be picking Chinese. The Chinese economy is growing tremendously and they will likely become the next world superpower.
If you're willing to be risky and want to pick something that's difficult and completely different from Spanish I'd say go for either Chinese or Japanese. Although Japan's economy is not quite as big as it was in the 90s it's still has a lot going for it. While both of these language prove to be really difficult they will both be rewarding. If you'd rather play it a little safer though and want something that resembles English or Spanish then go for either French or German. Although these languages are a lot easier, that by no means makes them less beneficial. French and German are both considered International languages. After English, French is the second most studied language in Europe still. I believe that German is a close number 3. French can get you far as it's spoken in several parts of Canada, plus Haiti, much of western and nothern Africa, France (obviously), Luxembourg, Belgium, and Switzerland. It's also spoken in many other countries as a second/third language. German is also gaining a lot of ground in Europe and along with English and French has become a language of Business. It is very commonly spoken throughout much of Easter Europe. According to wikipedia.org there are over 100 million native German speakers with an additional 20 mil 2nd language speakers.
So in my opinion, you can't go wrong with any one of these four languages. Try researching the languages cultures and see what interests you the most. Remember though, just because you choose to major in a certain language it doesn't mean that you have to give up learning the ones you did not choose. Like I said, I'm a Spanish major and plan to start a minor in Mandarin Chinese. However, I've also been learning Portugueses on my own. On my own now I've studied Portuguese for about 8 months and have reached about the same level of fluency that I have in Spanish (I'm currently in an Advance Spanish college class and have studied the this language for 4 years). Never limit yourself. The sky is the limit. Work hard and enjoy learning the languages.
Buenas suertes ; )
I’m looking for a place to take italian language classes in NYC (Manhattan). Can you recommend an affordable place to do this?
I am looking for interactive classes that do not focus on simply repetition as a method of learning. The language course must be available in the evening. They can be either at a university, a language institute or a community center.
Please let me know if you have taken classes at whichever place you are recommending and what your opinion of the classes were.
Thanks! Your help is greatly appreciated.
I have 2 italian friends if u want any help with italian
mm i dont have the less idea about ur question but if u decide learning spanish im here to help u
bye kisses from uruguay
Did you take a class or try to do it on your own with self help cassettes or videos?
I am Italian, so I don´t qualify for that bit of the question. But when I started learning German, I tried with both classes and CD-rom and I think that the classes are by far much better. For a start, it is not so easy to self-motivate oneself, then in classes it is possible to interact with native speakers and to compare what we know with ohters
I chose English as my first foreign language and French as the second. Now I want to study another foreign language. And which country do you think is the better one to take furthur education and where can people develop themselves better in your opinion? Thanks!
Italian will be easier for you. Grammar and syntax is similar to French.
L'Allemagne sera differente.
German syntax is very different from French. I would advise you to take up German, although comparatively it will be more difficult. But French & German are complimantary and like two different sides to English. By the knowledge of both Fr & Ger your mastery of English will also increase. Further since the syntax of French, English and German all three are different… thinking simultaneously in the three languages will help better cross-connectivity in the nerve pathways in your cerebral cortex, and will enhance your IQ & problem-solving ability…..
