Do you know any good websites or references to teach someone to speak French?

french for beginners
popseekuls asked:

I took French from grades 6 to 8 and it has always been challenging for me. In two months I will be moving on to high school and I need to catch up with the rest of my class. I need help to learn beginner French, either a website to help or some kind of audio tape or something. I need to know how to read it, speak it and write it. I have especcially had trouble with the sound of the words so I mostly need verbal assistance. I am hoping sombody had some ideas, please??

well, i don’t know of any free language learning sites that would teach you all of that, but i do have a few good ones. they’re all a bit different, and some are more reading/writing sites. still, i hope they help!
(this one is good for the basics)
(a pretty good site for review and has quizzes to check your knowledge)
(this one is probably my favorite because it has audio clips of argot - or slang)
(i haven’t tried this one yet…but it looks promising!)

also, a useful tip that i find helps me focus is to play some French music on youtube while using these sites (like Kyo or Superbus). it might give you a better way of recognizing words and improve your accent. i hope i was able to help!
